Our World Needs More Kind Kids
And it starts with us.
I know some of you who come across this post will think why is this girl saying that we need more kind kids?
Shouldn’t there be more kind adults?
And you are right, the world does need more kind adults.
We just need more kind individuals in general.
Because as most of us know, this world is often not kind.
This world gobbles up many of us and spits us back out like we don’t even matter.
And when some people experience so much hatred and lack of love, they will often treat the next person with that same level of hate and pessimistic attitude.
Unfortunately, there are many adults who are walking around full of this hate and set in their ways.
So there is very little hope in opening up their hearts to receive love.
This leads me to why I said our world need more kind kids.
Kids are not born with hate in their heart.
I mean think about it.
Babies experience a range of emotions and you can usually tell based off of the expressions on their face.
You will see happiness when they smile that gummy grin.
Sadness when they are crying.
We might even see frustration when they are scowling and cannot do something.
But you will not see hate.
Hate is a learned behavior that we either learn from experience or was taught by someone else.
And when it comes to young children, it is unfortunately the latter of the two.
As the adults, we are responsible for the upbringing of our children.
We are their first belief system and show them what it means to be loved.
There is a reason they say that a mother is a son’s first love and a father is a daughter’s first love.
They are watching and mimicking us.
Even when we don’t them to.
And let me tell you.
They don’t miss ANYTHING.
If I hit things out of frustration and anger, guess what they are going to do.
Hit things out of frustration and anger.
If they me hearing talk disrespectful to others, then they are slowly building up their vocabulary to say those same things to others when given the chance.
They are watching how we interact in our relationship and marriage.
They are watching how we treat our own mother’s and father’s.
And they are watching how we interact with strangers and people who do not look like ourselves.
Which based on the current events, we could use more kindness when it comes to those who look different.
We are all human and we are all deserving of kindness.
So how we do we even go about raising kind kids?
This is a great question and one I did my best to answer in this post you can find below where I drop some tips on how to teach your kids kindness and empathy.
I know I have been harping on kindness, but having empathy is just as important.
Just trying to be able to feel what it is like to be in someone else’s shoes.
We cannot physically be them, but we can attempt to relate to their struggle through empathy.
We can show compassion.
It may be too late for some adults who are set in their ways and unable to change, but we can start with our teaching our own children what it means to be kind.
Maybe then, we will have a kind world that we can all be proud of.
