Because that is what a lot of sources will say.

When I think about decluttering my home in day, I instantly get a headache.

I look at all the things around me and think to myself, “Aint no way”

And I’m a wife and a mom too, so that would mean also decluttering my husband’s and my daughter's things.

Yea, I just got another headache thinking about that.

We all know kids tend to accumulate a lot of things over time.

Whether it is toys, clothes, or shoes.

Kids are constantly growing out things or no longer playing with certain toys.

So, as parents, we often wind up with a lot of things that we don’t need and need to get rid of.

But who really wants to go through everything and put themselves through that?

Since a lot of us don’t want to fool with, what do most of us wind up doing?

We throw it out in the garage or push it towards to the back of the closet to never be seen again.

Along with the other junk that was probably already there.

So when I read on the blogs, that it is possible to declutter your home in a entire day.

I instantly think that they must not have a lot to declutter.

Because I feel like each area in my home deserves it’s own day.

Especially if I really want to go through each item and figure out if it’s worth keeping or not.

If I were to declutter my home in a day, then I can guarantee you that I would still have some junk to get rid of.

So my advice would be to take it a room at a time.

This isn’t a competition to see who can declutter their home the fastest.

The ultimate goal of decluttering is to get rid of what you don’t want, keep what you need, and make room for something new.

If I were to give you another piece of advice, it would be to declutter your home twice a year during the season changes.

From winter to spring and summer to fall.

Because you already have to switch things around in your home anyway to accommodate the temperature changes.

So why not get rid of things that you know for sure that you will not be using when that season comes back around?

Doesn’t that sound a lot easier than trying to rush do it all in one day?

If you all are like me, then decluttering can overall feel very overwhelming and I don’t even know where to start sometimes.

Well I wrote a post on the places that I like to start decluttering when I feeling overwhelmed.

And I like to take my time with each these places so it usually takes a day for each these places.

If you are interested in the places in my home that I like declutter regularly then check out that post below.

I will catch you all next time!
